SOLO Vincent Bruyninckx
Born in Namur, Vincent Bruyninckx studied classical piano and then jazz at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles.
He then completed his musical training with courses and workshops in musical analysis, composition, chamber music, improvisation, etc.
His curiosity and varied training (he also has a degree in physics) led him early on to consider music from a variety of angles, both stylistic and technical.
He has played on the Belgian and international jazz scene in a number of formations, including Tribute to Toots Thielemans, Philip Catherine, Bruno Castellucci, Jazz Station Big Band, Stéphane Mercier, etc.
He has a longstanding interest in chamber music and its contemporary expressions, and is an occasional collaborator with the Musiques Nouvelles Ensemble.
His career also includes forays into pop and chanson (Maurane, Liane Foly...). He regularly performs internationally.
He currently teaches at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and the Forest Academy.
From small to big band, from Schaerbeek to Saint-Josse
In partnership with the Jazz Station, we've come up with a formula called "From small to big band, from Schaerbeek to Saint-Josse".
Every first Thursday of the month, from October to June, from 8.30pm to 10.30pm, the Jazz Station Big Band (14 musicians) performs at the Jazz Station (chaussée de Louvain 193, near Place Saint-Josse).
From 7pm to 7.45pm, the Maison Autrique will be hosting a pre-concert featuring a solo performance by one of the Big Band musicians. He or she will take this opportunity to introduce you to his or her instrument(s), their specificities and/or their unsuspected uses in a unique performance. Drinks available from 6.45pm. Separate or combined tickets on sale at www.jazzstation.be
