Through posters, photographs, objects, and illustrations, immerse yourself in a vibrant and inventive Brussels, shaped by talented artists and graphic designers such as Leo Marfurt and René Magritte. A captivating journey into the creativity and optimism of this remarkable era.

History of Autrique house
The Maison Autrique (Horta 1893) is an important milestone of Art Nouveau. It has undergone an exemplary restoration. Now open to the public, it allows everyone to better understand the historical and aesthetic interest of Brussels' old houses. During your visit, you will discover exhibition spaces, a small thematic bookshop and an original scenography by Benoît Peeters and François Schuiten.

Educational offer
The Autrique House is the first bourgeois and Art Nouveau house built by the architect Victor Horta in Brussels in 1893. Restored over several years, it now offers an incredible insight into daily life at the turn of the 20th century. The museum allows visitors to explore various themes such as the architect Victor Horta and Art Nouveau; life in Brussels homes at the end of the 19th century; hygiene and clothing; energy (coal, gas, electricity) as well as urban planning and its evolution in Brussels.
The Autrique House's public service is currently developing a range of thematic activities for schools. These guided tours allow children to discover the museum through devices that encourage experimentation and discovery.

- Entry Prices : €5 per child; €3 for Schaerbeek schools
- Guide: 85€ for one class of maximum 20 children
- In the framework of the program 'auteurices en classe' of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, the classes can make a call to an author to animate a BD patrimony workshop in French. An pluridisciplinary and active experience!

Who built the Autrique House? Who lived in this house? Was the neighborhood similar to what we see today? What was this room used for? Through an interactive visit of the house, children will be invited to discover the history of the place, the use of the different spaces and the lives of the people who lived there. An immersion in the daily life of the early 20th century.
VISIT FOR KINDERGARTENERS
Victor Horta brought the garden into the Maison Autrique...
From the basement to the attic, children go in search of the plants and animals hidden in the rooms of the house. They discover that nature's inspiration is everywhere!
For the creative workshop, they compare colors and color ranges and then participate in the creation of a pretty Art Nouveau frieze to decorate the classroom.
