Maison Autrique - KRONIKAS #7 ART NOUVEAU

To create a seventh high-quality issue, we selected the scripts and complete stories that were sent to us. The authors took up the challenge of the 'Art Nouveau' theme with panache. They were quick to go beyond the 'noodle' style to come up with projects that mimicked it or included it as a graphic element.

A vampire takes over the abundant plant decorations of Victor Horta's Hôtel Tassel in Brussels, a photographer under the spell of a statuette experiences a magical and disturbingly real moment in Havana, Alphonse Mucha is portrayed in his trials and tribulations as a poster artist for Sarah Bernhardt in Paris, Privat Livemont in the middle of executing a sgraffito dialogues with a pupil at the local school in Rue Josaphat in Schaerbeek, and so on.

In all, 19 authors living in the 4 corners of the world offer us their visions of heritage and the fruits of their imagination in a multilingual album with diverse but complementary visual and narrative styles.

Subjects :

- Tangible heritage. In other words, the special relationship that each person has with a tangible or intangible heritage element from Art Nouveau to Brussels, Algiers, Havana and Moscow. All from the perspective of fiction and/or auto-fiction. The aim is to produce a personal piece of work, not the didactic work of a historian or architect.

- A short text presenting each story is always provided.
